September 4,2025

Meeting Called to Order: 6:35PM
Meeting Adjourned: 7:45 PM
Equity Statement
The WSNA (West Salem Neighborhood Association) is committed to reducing equity. gaps, increasing access for all, and creating a safe community for everyone. Safety and belonging for all West Salem residents is vital. We must be inclusive in conducting business and promoting policies that protect age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, ability, religion, and other individual identities. The association commits to integrating equity into the fabric of our association and the Delivery of public services in pursuit of equal, fair, and just outcomes for all.

WSNA Officer Nomination Process
WSNA discussed the nomination process for officers and the executive board, explaining the requirements and responsibilities of each position. They highlighted the need for candidates to attend three meetings to understand the dynamics and issues at hand. WSNA also described the various tasks involved in being the chair, including managing emails, liaising with the city, and attending meetings. They mentioned Roberto, the vice chair, who assists with meetings and welcome committee duties.
Neighborhood Association Leadership Nominations
The meeting focused on leadership positions within the neighborhood association, with nominations for chair, vice chair, secretary, and treasurer roles discussed. Committee chairs gave brief updates. The next meeting was scheduled for October 2nd at 6:30 PM.
The session concluded with leadership nominations. Matthew Falby nominated Mark Wardell with a 2nd vote from EM Easterly. (after contacting Mark later in the week, he decided to not move forward with the nomination) Otherwise, no other nominations were presented.
